Created during a retreat hosted by Ardently Collective, this editorial brought together soft florals, an effortlessly romantic couple, and the natural beauty of the Berkshires for wedding inspiration that felt elevated without losing its sense of ease.
Romantic Wedding Inspiration at Berkshire Botanical Garden
Berkshire Botanical Garden is tucked away in Stockbridge in Western Massachusetts, surrounded by the beauty that makes the Berkshires such an incredible destination for weddings.
The garden spans 24 acres with dozens of individual garden spaces, from perennial borders and woodland plantings to meadows and winding paths. It creates the kind of wedding backdrop that doesn't need much added to it—the landscape is already doing the work.
For Eden and Luke's portraits, we were able to move throughout the gardens and let each little pocket create something different. Some photographs feel polished and editorial. Others feel like we just happened upon the two of them wandering through a garden together. That combination is always where I find the magic.
Wedding Portraits That Feel Like a Walk Through the Garden
One of my favorite ways to approach wedding portraits is to give them room to breathe.
Instead of finding one beautiful spot, taking a handful of photographs, and moving on, I love letting the environment become part of the experience. Walk somewhere. Stop when the light looks beautiful. Let your dress move. Notice something growing beside you. Talk to each other instead of looking at me.
Berkshire Botanical Garden is made for that kind of photography. Everywhere we turned there was another layer of greenery, texture, flowers, and pathways to work with. Rather than the garden simply becoming a backdrop, it became part of the story. And that's exactly how I want a wedding gallery to feel.
Not like you were placed into a pretty location for photographs—but like you actually experienced it.

The inspiration behind this shoot felt romantic and refined without becoming overly formal. Eden's gown brought that classic bridal element into the garden, while the florals from Avela Floral complemented the landscape rather than competing with it. Hair and makeup by True Beauty Co. kept everything feeling polished while still soft enough for the organic setting.
It created the kind of balance I love photographing: intentional details surrounded by moments that don't feel overly manufactured. Because editorial wedding photography doesn't have to mean stiff.
To me, it's about being intentional with composition, light, movement, and the little details that make an image beautiful—while still leaving enough space for the two people in front of the camera to actually be themselves.

It's one of the reasons I've fallen in love with photographing weddings here. There is so much room to create something that feels completely personal.
